Germantown is just 12 miles northwest of Washington, DC. It lies on Germantown Road just off the I-270 corridor. It's host to Montgomery College of Germantown and has been rated one of the top fifty places in America to raise a family.
In the 1830s and 1840s, a large number of German business owners, some of whom were immigrants from Germany and others relocating from Pennsylvania, settled where the roads now know as Liberty Mill and Clopper intersect.
